removing baffles?

Hello all

I am new to motorcycles and bought my first bike about two months ago (07 Bonneville Black) I love the bike and can't wait to put some serious miles on it. I was wondering about removing the baffles? Is it hard? Benefits? Any information would be appreciated

You might wamt to ask around a little first

I think in the 07 mufflers there was a change and there is a piece that does not come out easily or at all you may wind up with a big rattle in the can. You may want to look at aftermarket instead like togas or tors if you like the factory look, I have not been real impressed with the baffleectomy, they sound really tinney to me, and if you do this you will have to loose the AI, and rejet right off or it will run like crap and back fire on deccel badly.

Thanks for the additional information, I will have to do some more investigating before I risk screwing something up

Uzidzit does have a point about the 07s. You will have to cut the last .5-1" off the tip of the exhaust to remove that baffle holder thing. If you are looking for a true performance upgrade I agree with Uzidzit. But I wanted something for right now and saving for next set, so I went and did it with great results. If you take a clean 2" off the end, the pipes end up flush with the rear tire as well and looks pretty good. They will be slightly louder, but a MUCH better tone with it. As far as jetting, you will want to increase your mains anyway even if stock "IMO" as it runs lean from factory. But unless you drill through second baffle... dont really think you need anything bigger then 115s (110 are what comes stock).
