Would painting be ok?

I pretty sure I have seen it before on the front sprocket, but would painting the rear and front sprockets be ok? I know they won't last more then a year without having to get a touch up, but would it cause any damage. --Edited-- . If it was on here that I seen it, did you have any issues?

worried about it because it would be slicker? haha

why would you paint the front sprocket? do you have the front cover cut so you can see the front one?

I'm about to paint my rear sprocket gold to match my new rotors.

Yeah, was thinking of doing a custom front cover, mainly open... and wanted gold front and back. Thats mainly why I asked. What kind of paint you going to use, that rim/wheel paint? I'm thinking gold chain, f/r sprockets, and footpegs on Thrux rearsets for my black this winter. But I might just by a custom rear sproket as it will look better... IMO. But yeah, I knew I was going to hear it from at least one person about the slicker thing, but just needed some kind of example of possible problems.

I bought a can of gold spray paint called "Dupli-color Auto Spray" from Pep Boys.

I'm going to spray my new rear brake rotor and sprocket. I'll let you know how it holds up.

I did the project with what I would consider excellent results from a rattle can. I used rust-oleum metalic gold for the front and rear sprockets but the key to success is preping the metal for paint. Pick you up a jug of this stuff from home depot and just follow the directions...

Results are good enough for me.
