Plastic Tank Badges on 2008 models?

I've heard on some thread that the tank badges on the 2008 Bonneville and Scrambler models are now plastic, and are glued on. Has anyone seen an 2008 model who can confirm this? Also, it seems as though the Eyebrow badge that used to come on the Bonneville T100 has been replaced with the Bonneville tank badge that is the same one that comes on the standard Bonneville.

I wonder if the new tanks still have the female threads in the tank to accept the tank badge mounting bolts.

Here are photos from the UK site of 2008 models:

Here is the Eyebrow badge that used to be standard on the Bonneville T100:

Looks Like Plastic

Sure looks to be plastic. I don't see mounting screws or the black rubber backing.

They're clearly visible in this '06 model photo...

Doesn't surprise me, since it seems like corners were cut to make the Bonneville cheap.

And each year they cut more to keep it that way.

Plastic badges?? Please somebody confirm it isn't true, that's just going way too far.

I did notice that the badges were upgraded to the newer logo.

You mean DOWNGRADED to the same style that has always been on the standard Bonnie since 2001.

No, not the badge style. I mean changed to the newer logo where the swooping R actually becomes the middle of the H rather than coming up just short of it and stopping.

Personally I wish they'd just throw out these new logos and revert to the original iconic one used for most of the 20th century, but that's a different thread (actually many threads).

Ah, gotcha! Thanks for pointing that out. Pretty subtle change, and something I hadn't even noticed.

I agree, the old Triumph logo works, and I would assume John Bloor acquired the trademark when he bought the other assets. Not sure why the new Triumph company doesn't use that recognizable and well-liked logo.

Maybe these aren't actual production photos but prototype mock-ups for size and look. That would be a shame if they are plastic.
