1st Round of Mods...w/pics
Hi everyone, I just completed my first few mods to the bike. I just got it this summer and its starting to get chilly here in Indy so I thought I would snap a few pics before I put it up for the winter.
Mods so far:
AI removed
M Bars
"vintage" style grips
"S" mirrors
Triumph single seat
bobbed rear fender
EMGo reverse cones
Next up will be airbox elimination and rejet, and I have the fork gaiters sitting in the garage waiting to be put on. (I keep chickening out). I think I'm gonna bob the front fender and change the tank emblems to the old school cheese graters kind.
BTW: How the heck are you guys getting these big pictures to post. It keeps making me shrink them down???

Your bike is looking great. The gaiter installation is a piece of cake, go for it. Did you notice much change in power when you put the EMGo reverse cones on. Exhaust mod is next on my list. It's starting to get a little chilly here in Pennsylvania also, but I hate to think of putting it away for the winter. I'll probably ride mine until it snows.
If you want to display a picture with your message instead of an attachment, I can try to explain. I opened an account with Photobucket.com (free). Then you upload the pictures that you want to display within your message to photobucket from your personal computer. Once you upload the pictures they will appear in your photobucket album. Under the pictures you will see 4 items. EMail & IM, Direct Link, HTML Tag, and IMG Code. You want to use the IMG Code information. You can put the cursor over the link information and copy this info or "link". Now paste this info "link" into the message you are trying to post. You will not see a picture yet, just the link you copied and pasted from photobucket. But if you use the "preview post" option before you submit you will see the picture. You can also edit your picture size on the photo bucket web site to fit better into your post. It is pretty easy once you give it a try. Good Luck.

Beautiful bike! Another example of why Goodwood Green is by far the best color on a Bonneville.
I really love the combination solo seat and bobbed rear-fender with the full-length front fender.

Posting a picture within a message is much too complicated. I probably can do it. But I refuse to try, my expectations are these things should be simple. I'll stick to attaching pictures.
Why is the requirement for a picture to already be somewhere in the internet to be able to post in the message? Any body knows?

dude that is a sweet ride. Modded, classy, classic, and bad to the bonnie! I think it's the tank pads that make it.

You need to have the photo already on the internet because the posting here on rat.net is 'just' some html code, you can embed links to other places on the internet (including your own comp if you've got it set up for site hosting, but that's scary-boo if you're not a pro like Hedge and besides most ISP's frown on it). If the site just 'made a copy and saved it somewhere' for you, they could easily run out of disk space, so they limit you to uploading only a finite number of your own pics, relatively small, to manage disk space. By storing the actual location of your uploaded pix in a database and letting you put a 'thumbnail' to it, that frees them up to organize the photos and their storage any way they want without having to have a bunch of publicly accessible storage.
The photobucket route is perfectly fine for most folks.

I am extremely happy with the EMGO's for the price. I spent a grand total of $125 for the pipe adapters and the mufflers. They are really loud compared to stock, but its a nice tone. I wanted to get the Thuxton pipes, but for some reason to me, they look a bit too large. The other good thing about them is that the baffle is removable and you can repack it if you want to tone them down a bit. There is definitely a difference in power, although right now I do not have the proper jets, since I am waiting to do the air box removal, I didn't want to have to change them twice. So there probably is still some more power to be had once its tuned.
