Got my repair estimate

Took bonnie into indy triumph on my lunch break yesterday to get an estimate for the repair work after the shippers knocked it around. Grand total? just under 2500 bucks! Glad i'm not going to be the one paying for it. Hopefully the claims people settle up quickly. Atleast the damage is all cosmetic and I can keep riding till the check comes in.

Yep, i'll be doing my 500 mile service today and ridding some more!

With the insurance claim though, I have no idea how it really works. So the damaged bits go back to the insurance company since they paid for them, or are they yours or what?

Usually, as they're paying, the insurance co will tell you where to have the bike repaired. You drop it off, they do whatever it takes to make it good so cosmetics like yours should mean repairing and repainting the existing parts. You check it over that everything's to your satisfaction and only then do you ride away. What happens to any replaced parts is between the shop and the insurers. The main thing is to make sure everything's up to scratch, which I'm sure it absolutely will be, and you have a better finished bike than you originally bought!

Cheers,Mick.

INSURANCE COMAPANY CANNOT TELL YOU WHO IS TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICHLE. YOU WILL GET SCREWED. Take the bike to a TRIUMPH DEALER or a registered repair shop and have the adjuster do the estimate there. Insurers dont want the damaged parts...you have the right of return of these parts in most states.

Or buff out the damaged bits and get some other upgrades done.
