"The pen is mightier than the sword". Old Greaser post

I have that beat.

"A picture is worth a thousand words. A video is worth millions of words. A person who makes the videos is worth thousands of dollars in no time at all."

Sorry, but I'll take the lazy way out, anytime.

good point, they do. I remember seeing one for re-jetting, and air box removal, but it think they are really on videos for mods, not maintenance stuff.

Nicely put ATGATT - why f-around with small text and black & white pictures when you can set up a small TV and DVD player in 15 mintues and get it done with little frustration.

Does anyone get the SPEED channel? Do you guys see all those car mod/repair shows that come on Saturday mornings? Just apply that model to bikes and wala!

the trick with something like this is understanding the theory of how it all works. Once you have that, as long as it's the same type of engine, you can apply the same knowledge. even if it's not the same type of engine, really; lots of 2 stroke knowledge applies to 4 strokes too; the principles are the same even if the execution is different. The point is though that you can't just walk someone through an engine rebuild and expect them to be able to handle it if they don't have the theoretical background.

Ernie, you are greatly overestimating the general quality of American public schools, I think!

No videos or anything, but: http://www.dansmc.com/MC_repaircourse.htm

it's not a bad overview on motorcycle mechanics.
