Speedmaster sissy bar/luggage rack for 2-up riding?

Has anybody done 2-up riding on their Speedmaster with the sissy bar?

Last weekend, the girlfriend and I did a short ride to run an errand. She feels like she's going to slip off the back, the way the Speedy's seat slopes backwards. Since I'd like to take her on longer rides up the coast or into the mountains a little bit, I'm thinking again about getting the sissy bar.

Any thoughts? Does it make the rider feel more secure? I think it would make me feel more secure having one of those behind her, because I wouldn't want to sit on the back of the stock seat. (And yes, I have the stock seat... I am quite fond of it!)

I put a better two up seat on my America when the wife tags along.

Slim, how are you doing?
Jeff, your first order of bidniss is to get the Triumph touring seat for your Speedy. If you're ever going to ride with her for more than a few minutes, it's almost mandatory for a passenger. It doesn't look bad either! You can always swap the seat back if you're going solo.
Your gal will thank you profusely.

Next, get a sissy bar and rack. I chose the short sissy bar because it looks good and is still very functional. I got it because on one ride I swear I thought the wife dropped off the back!
Some passengers prefer a tall sissy bar. It's a personal preference.
Good luck!

I went with tall sissy-bar, but the short is more aesthetically pleasing.
My wife wouldn't get on the bike without the sissy-bar to lean up against and I like riding with her so it stays.

Interesting website, the movie reviews are well written. I have to rent "Jesus Camp".

Yep. Touring seat, rack, and small bar = a happy bride. We all know what THAT means!

Thanks for the responses... I hadn't considered getting a touring seat, but looks like that's the best idea, along with the sissy bar.

My gal is on the way to becoming a bride, and it's long overdue that she share in the fun.

The seat can be swapped out in a minute or two, i'm guessing. How about the sissy bar? Can you bolt that on/off in 10 minutes or less?

And SSJones, thanks for the compliment! Tell your friends! And do watch "Jesus Camp", though watching it from the comfort of home is bound to be a different experience than watching it with a theater full of rowdy, West Hollywood, George Bush hating liberals... Probably a better one, too.

Slim, the sissy bar & rack is not exactly a quick release.
Mine has not come off the bike since the moment I mounted it. It still looks ok.
