Lovely bike.

But the guy selling it needs it shoving where the sun don't shine.
Bought two never rode either, put one in a museum and suggests to any future owner they do the same with this one.
Hell gotta be a lawyer or a property speculator, sure doesn't understand what a mottorcycles all about.
Shame on him.

If you're gonna buy it to ride great, but knock him down on the price.

Hagon 320mm rear shocks & progressive fork springs. Last measured. 61.60 hp, , Max torque 48.40 in 5th gear at the rear wheel at 7200 rpm, 105 mph in 5th at 6500 rpm.

Triumph took a good motorcycle and painted over the chrome on the wheel rims. They put bad quality chrome on the engine covers. They put a blue seat on the bike and gave it a horrible paint job.

Shameful!

Motorcycles are built to be ridden. That was the intent of the creator. If I had a 1885 Gottllieb Daimler or whatever valuable vintage machine, I'd ride it. Probably not every day but it would get ridden.
I hate seeing those crated masterpieces, but I'd sure love to get one...And put it together to ride.

Totally agree, it should be ridden....and would be. I guess the reason I've always liked it was because it was one of those things where I liked it in '77 and had no money. Although the hard parts are probably fine, I have to believe that most, if not all, of the soft parts like gaskets, seals, O rings, maybe even the tires, have broken down over time. Think I'm right about that? I've always wanted to restore a T-120, but I sure wouldn't pay this kind of price for a restoration project. Part of the fun of restoration is finding a neglected piece (car, bike,boat,etc) and giving it life again. Plus the thrill of the chase finding the parts. One thing for sure though, someone needs to rescue this poor bike and get it on the road where it belongs.

funny, i just found this independently, and was strolling over here to post it.

i think the rub is that you know this guy never intended on doing anything but waiting a few years then selling it. somehow that seems very slimy. i think we'd all rather see a 1977 Jubilee that was ridden once a year and kept in immaculate shape, than a crated bike that was only ever intended to rob an enthusiast from his hard earned money.

the seller might have the best of intentions, but it still rubs me the wrong way.

give me a beat-to-hell bike with loads of character anyday.

Ah hell, I guess he would be no different than a coin collector except that he has more space for inventory. How would all of you feel if it was a 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 with zero miles on it? Would you still think he is slimy or would you love to pawn off all of your wife's jewelry while she was sleeping and go buy it and chance the Lorena Bobbitt punishment? Humm Poll anyone?

At least you won't have to clean the sludgetrap!
I imagine rubber parts like tires and footpegs may be getting hardened by now, but gaskets etc may be in surprisingly good shape.

I know I might get hammered for expressing this on this forum... and here goes. Those Triumph's leaked oil when new in thier best condition. I can't imagine what one sitting in a crate for 20 years is going to do. It might make the Exxon Valdez look like litter.
I also understand that Triumph never numbered the Silver Jubilee. Anyone who wanted to could just add the seat, and paint and away you go.
And I agree with all the other comments...if it is not going to be ridden, leave it alone! It 's like the joke about the guy bragging about how beautiful his wife is, how soft her skin is how long her hair is and the best part is... she is a virgin.
