Talking She's finally here!

It took a week and a half longer than expected, but I got to ride my very first brand-new bike home today!

She's a Tornado Red & Black '07 T100, keys handed to me with 9 miles on the clock (they had to test ride a few times to get the jetting right).

Jump for joy, summersault, cartwheel, hoorah!
I can't believe how much I already love this bike!
Until 3pm, I'd never riden any other bike than my '84 Shadow 700, and I'd never even heard a Bonneville in person.

So I was taking a gamble that I'd like it, and I couldn't be more pleased!

I had TORs, gaiters, centerstand and AI removal done by the dealer, at no labor cost to me.
They spent quite a bit of time rejetting until they got it just right, they must've taken it out on a half dozen short trips while I waited.
I sure wasn't going to hurry them, even though it was killing me waiting!

I never knew what a bike could ride like new!
For its age, my Shadow is in good shape, but I had no other frame of reference either.
This Bonneville just purrs!
Clicking through the gears is nearly silent, the brakes are smooth and firm, and the sound is like music!

I only rode about 45 miles today, the air temp is a damp 45F.
But that sure was a great ride!

Pics will follow, after work tomorrow!

K--Welcome to the club. All efforts to resist your new ride and it constantly, seductively luring you to the open road will be futile. You will obey. And it's most likely the best garage candy you'll ever have. Enjoy.

Kframe,

Congratulations. You have a great bike.

Sounds like you have a wonderful dealer. Let the rest of the guys in the upper midwest know which dealership it is.

I bought my Scram at Simi Valley Cycles. That store really sucks. Terrible sales department. No communication at all. I practally had to beg them for info regarding delivery. The F&I screwed up my contract, I had a hell of time ironing things out with G.E. They also submitted an incorrect VIN #
with DMV. More problems with that.

The service manager has the personality of Heinrich Himmler. He acts like he is doing us a favor by agreeing to work on our bikes.

I would ride 1000mi to avoid this dealership.

Way to go!

Kframe,

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!
English bikes are addictive and there's nothing like 'em. Ride her well and often my friend. I have to agree with Hiltz on several points. Your dealer sounds like the uber dealer of all time. I live in Simi Valley but bought my bike at L.A. Cycle Sports. The Simi store leaves much to be desired on all levels...unfortunately.
You'll find this to be a very friendly, welcoming and super informative forum. Keep checking in.

Cheers,

SK

PS

Hey Hiltz if you live close by, PM me and let's go for a ride.

Thanks for the welcome, guys!
It feels great to be a legit member now!

Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with my dealer, they are the HQ for the local Pack, they spent two more hours prepping than they had planned (rejetting for the TORs and AI-r) and did not complain about it (they were eating the labor cost), they talked alot about how Triumph sends out surveys and is really interested in the data so if I have any problems or questions they want me to call them so I can be satisfied and will give them good marks.
(Whew, run-on-sentence!)

I hope the sun comes out later today so I can get some nice pictures!

I'm not going to get much riding in this season but I'm going to get out every chance I can so that first oil change can be done before snow flies.

Probably gonna get the chrome front fender at some point but didn't want to jack up the grand total too high.

I didn't get a super price on the bike, but I feel like I paid what it is worth to me and the dealership attitude is worth quite a bit to me as well.

This grin just isn't fading!

Well, the sun hasn't come out, but I snapped a couple pics.
Oh, and I've got 115s in for mains, and 40s for pilots.
I didn't think to ask how many turns they set it at.
