Need a little adjustment guidance I think (maybe)

2007 bonnie black 865cc AI removal,

So about 600 miles ago at 200 miles on my odometer, I did the AI mod. and noticed that I started spitting and sputtering a bit and then started briefly dropping a cylinder. so I checked everything out real good and silicone sealed the plug insert that came with the AI kit and goes into the airbox after the hose removal and she ran fine again. now she started spitting and sputtering again and surging pretty hard and when it gets in the mood to do this if I am traveling at 20 mph and under it will with out warning completley die. it will start back up and run instantly, but it just decides to quit running for the moment.
so I uped the octane a little and just to see If I had some bad gas and was at 114 on this tank anyway so it was time for a fill up. still surged another two or three miles to home. I pulled the carb drain screws and didnt notice any debris. pulled and cleaned the plugs. I did notice that the plugs were black which I have heard means I maybe running a little rich. I also got her fired back up and stuck my hands behind the pipes to make sure I was getting equal flow from both and I was however it seemed that the right side pipe was producing more heat than the left side. so with this info what do you guys thank could be the problem? and also since I am a dummy and dont know what d screws etc etc. are or where they are located could you possibly post some directions with what screws need to be adjusted and I know its asking alot but pics would help greatly as well.
thanks for any help I would sincerely appreciate it Im suppose to go on about a 1400 mile round trip in a week and would really like to have this worked out by then as I dont have triple aaa.

Sounds like a vaccuum thing? Check your rubber plugs/ caps. I opened my jets 1/2 turn Mentioned here so I did it & all is fine. Check the intake plugs for any leaks. will do what youare desrribing. Ley us know! Its a minor thing that you havent noticed I am sure!

yep after going through my carbs I think maybe it is something electrical to just because it is so sporadic intermittent and sudden. I did feel up under my tank to check the coil wires and they are really really floppy like the only thing holding them on is the boot. with the spark plugs that metal ring pops on and you feel its on there pretty solid under the boot but not so on the coil side so Im going to pull the tank again and make sure those connections are solid and if that doesnt do it well Im going to call tripple a and sign up and head off on the trek anyway. After reading the Angola story why should I let a little intermittent missing stop me. Those guys are my flippin hero's I swear.
