One word.... Thunderbike
Picked up my Scrambler yesterday from Miles over at British Customs. Man.... What a difference. Thunderbike mufflers and a CR carburetor. Holy Sh*t! I thought the TOR's and airbox removal I had previously installed was an improvement... I might as well have kept my money and left the bike stock.... But now? The difference is huge. I wouldn't have believed it. I know everyone who has made the switch says so, but I was reluctant to jump on the Thunderbike bandwagon. Listening to sound bytes didn't convince me either. Now I'm ready to do an infomercial for them. Dare I say, with the new carb and pipe, that the bike is too fast? Got up at 4:30AM and went for a ride in Malibu and up the PCH. To say the bike "pulls along" would be an understatement—It pulled along just fine before. Now the bike is hurled down the road. I feel silly writing this, I always think these posts sound so corny, but this is true. What you need: Airbox removal kit, Air Injection Elimination Kit, Nology Ignition & Hot Wires, and Thunderbike pipes (or mufflers). No lie. And, if you buy the CR carb you'll really be in for a thrill—all from British Customs. Thanks guys!

I have a thruxton. I have a air box kit, predator pipes and then installed the nology coil wires and plugs form british customs. In all honesty I can't say that I felt any difference by seat of the pants. At best I am told they are only good for 1 or 2 HP.
Next I installed a pair of Kehin CR racing carbs. Now, THAT I FELT! I still need to have some dyno work done to dial it in a little better.however, I have no hesitation recommending those carbs.

British Customs
I have the whole BC Upgrade deal on my Bonneville Black and it is everything you described. I am seriously toying with the 35MM CR upgrade kit over the winter. Anyway, I know exactly how you feel!

MAR-
It's quite possible that the real difference from the nology bits wouldn't be apparent until *after* the new carbs, not before. Just a thought.

Thanks Malibu
Ah geez man! I just did airbox last week & put my Metzeler Tourances on today. I have an amazing amount more power.
Now tell me, do the thunderbike pipes sound different to the TOR's????
I have TORs & so far I'm happy with everything. Lemme know.

Air box removal and aftermarket pipes and you couldn't tell any difference? Something is wrong. There couldn't be that big of a difference from Bonnie to Thruxton. The difference is very noticeable.

I don't know about "aftermarket pipes". I only know that the Triumph TOR's for the Scrambler are still very choked up. I don't know for a fact, but I think they are meant to be used with an airbox... Getting the Thunderbike pipes with the large holes and having the CR carb installed has increased the power beyond what I even needed. It's now louder and faster than I even wanted, but what's a guy to do? WHEELIES!
