New Rear Mudguard

Found time to put on the new cut down fibre glass rear mudguard this weekend, must say Im well happy with it, wish I could lose the gel seat and sissy bar but I have to keep the mrs happy

Also added a brake light modulator which flashes the brake light 4 times when you apply the brake, if you re apply brake anything less than 30 seconds then it flashes 2 times... well happy with both.

74 views and not one comment?? does that mean no one likes it?

I thought there would be loads of chat on it as its quite different from the normal one.

That rear fender looks good cut off level with the struts- did you do it yourself- I was thinking of bobbing my America at some stage
Always liked the yellow/black paint scheme - don't know why they discontinued it on the later models

I just singed up to this forum to ask if anyone has bobed athe rear fender yet and there it is at the top. Is there any other pics out there. The rear fender was the only thing stoping me from buying a speedmaster. O and the fact that the closes dealer is 45 min away. I going on a busness trip and there is a dealer 10 min from my hotel guesse were i will be when the meeting is done.

It looks good I would love to see it with out sisy bar and seat.

I was going to cut my fender exactly the same as yours, but haven't yet as I intend to get different rear lights first. I haven't made my mind up on the rear end look.....

I like the fender but I would have mounted the number plate and light differently to make the tail end look cleaner/ less fiddly.

Also do something with the touring seat, I just can't stand the profile of the pillion pad...

Heres what I did to mine:

Id love to lose the seat and sissy bar but alas its a compromise with the wife I keep trying to put the gunfighter seat on but each time she moans... I gotta sit on that!! women!.

The fibreglass guard is being SOLD on EBAY for 50 quid, you get it, have it sprayed then install it, comes with all bolts and wiring so its real easy.

The plates there as I used to have a nice sideplate on an older bike but the wife kept cutting herself on it.... I have to keep her happy else NO riding for me.

Is there a lowering kit? That is the only thing that would make it look better. but it looks kick ass already.

TrOjAn, I didn't mean for you to change the seat, I also have the touring seat but I removed some of the foam to reduce the profile and that unusual angle of the touring seat. Have a look at the photo, it's the same seat just modified. I also had issues with the girls not being comfortable on the gunfighter, but they were happy with tis option....
