scrambler, Tire info please
I know there have been many posts before, but more time passed should give better info on what works, what are the opinions on best scrambler replacement tires? I want a tire with a greater Road bias, is everyone use the exact same sizes?? any ideas would be great,
also this may be a dumb question, the back tire is shot, but the front is fine, is it taboo to mix a set of tires?????

I use
Anekees on my Dl650 and they would be an excellent choice if you are 90% road and 10% off. the only place they are not great is in soft sand or mud, But the trailwings are even worse in the mud, and not as smooth on the road. Metzler Tourance is also a great dual sport tire.

Metzler Tourance in standard sizes. Slightly quicker turn in and quieter. Still keeps tha Scrambler style.

I rarely put tyres on in pairs - fronts last nearly twice as long a rears, why would you? I think manufacturers try and push this to sell more tyres, and prob over-paranoid riders (or over-wealthy maybe) replace in pairs. These are not racing bikes, and we're not pushing the boundaries of speed etc really, compared to very fast machinery. Having said that, some pairings don't work well together because of differing profiles and such factors; conversely others do - syuch as the famous pairing on old Meriden Triumphs of an Avon Roadrunner rear and a Dunlop TT100 front - razor sharp!!!

I have looked at every post on this for my Scrambler, as I'm changing tires. I liked the idea of doing the dirt, but really, it's not going to happen. I just want something that's going to hold me way better in turns. After much research, I've just ordered Metzeler Tourances in a size bigger, both front & back. Wanted to stay with radials too, so have ordered a 110/90 on the front & a 140/80 on the back.

my 2 cents
I got 3kmi from the stock trailwings and it handled funky. I am kind of stingy, and went with Avon Distanzia's after pricing tourances That was 7k mi ago and they are quieter great handling, and still going for 1/2 price.

I just put 140/10-90 metzeler lazertec on the rear of my scrambler (stock size on the front) and it works fine. Can't really compare to the trailwings since it's apples and oranges; however handling is very smooth.

I just got my Scrambler and I'm riding 100% on road. I had a Metzeler Lazortec put on the front and a Metzeler ME Z2 on the back. Though I don't have any personal knowledge of how the Trail Wings ride, the Metzelers are wonderful, (I say this with only 325 miles on the bike).

607s
I have Dunlop 607s on my Scrambler almost 100% road so I wouldn't know just how good or bad they would be on dirt or mud.I certainly like the way they handle on pavement though!
