2008 Speedmaster / America Color Choices

SPEEDMASTER

I would have rather of seen the Pacific Blue / New England white, but the Pacific Blue/Aluminum Silver looks good too.

Phantom Black is back, but how about a non-metalic black?

No Mullberry red... I didn't notice.

AMERICA

I dug the Pacific Blue / New England White on the RIII and it is good to see it on the America this year.

So who is it that is going to buy the Pacific Blue/Aegean Blue bike? From the site it looks a bit too pastel. Perhaps in real life it will look better.

I am holding off judgement until I can see one in person to see if I like them at all. For now, I think no matter what the color scheme, they ruined our bikes with that tank.

Indeed. Maybe they're saving the classic Speedy tank for the 1500? Right...

The Pacific Blue / New England White colour scheme was available on the 2007 Americas as well. It's one of many reasons I got my particular bike.

Conwy:

You caught my goof up.

I had looked at the wrong page and thought that The Blue/white combo was going to be on the Speedy for '08. I posted the thread and soon figured out my mistake so I went back and cut and pasted the comment from the Speedy to the America.

There is an '07 America at the Triumph dealer in Augusta Georgia with the Pac Blue / NE White paint on it if anyone is looking.

Silverado57:

I caught the 1500 stab btw...

I kind of agree with everyone else here. I'd have to see it in person to get a better idea.

The tank makes it look like a Suzuki or Yamaha. The paint sceme, well I like the classic look scemes better. I couldn't tell what kind of tank badge that was.

You know that wouldn't be a bad bike, if they offered it as another model and still had the recent (unchanged) speedmasters as 08 models on the sales floor.

Based on what I've seen, I'd give two thumbs down, one middle finger up to the design.

I don't like the tank. I am 6'2" with a 28" inseam. (pause for laughing to stop) One of the main reasons I chose the Speedmaster over the Shadow 750 or Star 1100 (apart from the fact that I have always wanted aTriumph) was the fact that it was the first large bike that my feet not only touched the ground on, but my knees were not vibrating against the tank the whole ride. The new tank looks like every other tank out there.
Liek the rest of you, I will hold off final judgment until I see/test ride one when they are released.

i've been reading on this forum, as well as bonnevilleamerica.com about the new tank. after thinking about for a few weeks,,,, HOW COULD THEY DARE????? folks,,, it ain't no triumph anymore without that distinctive tank,, you can spot one a block away. the new tank don't look bad, it just does'nt look like a triumph. glad i got an 07, while the getting was good.
