Grab rail help
Greetings, fellow Bonnie nuts....I have been lurking for a few months taking the great advice on mods (exhaust from Commando Specialties, Jetting , air box mods). Now I need some help on a grab rail I bought on Ebay. It is the Triumph part, but there were no attaching screws. The rear four that go into the rear of the frame look easy, but how does the forward part mount and what kind of fastener is it? It looks nearly impossible to get to it also. Can anybody help?
Thanks,
George

I think the Triumph part, like my Renntec, fits onto the top bolts of the rear shockers.

Futuraman, the grab rail probably mounts the same as the sissy bar mounting rail. I forget exactly what I did, but it involved loosening and moving--but not removing--the rear fender.
If you wish, I can copy the relevant part of the mounting instructions for the sissy bar rail and e-mail to you. Give me an e-mail address that will take a sizable attachment and a day or two, and I'll send it to you.

The front mounts of the dresser bar bolt onto the inside of the top shock mounts (i.e., underneath the seat). If you feel up there you'll see that there's room for a bolt. You'll need six (6) M8x20 stainless steel bolts to mount the dresser bar. I can't recall off the top of my head the size of the four bolts for mounting the grab rail to the dresser bar. I'll check when I get home later. Cheers.

Thanks for the help! I will try the M8x20 bolts.
I have the screws that hold the pieces together.

I have the sissy bar (same mount). No disassembly required - apart from seat removal. The dealer mechanic did it in about 10 mins.
I'd PDF you the instructions but sorry I don't know where I put them.
 Ernie.

George, I wanted to let you know that the torque spec for the the six M8x20 bolts is 18 Nm.
