What's your story? My first...

My cherry has been popped - the "honeymoon" is over.

Making a right hand turn on a embankment, stupid soccer Mom taking little Johnny to school making a left from the other side of the street nearly takes my left foot off in her attempt to cut me off. Nevermind I have the green arrow. I'm talkin' her Ford suburbo-car was within inches of my boot and bike.

So naturally I stopped, revved my engine and flicked her off. Then proceeded to take my time through the rest of my turn.

I was so ready to pull into that High School parking lot and smash her window in with my bare fist.

Sorry, had to be said.

Arrow Just an idea . . .

I had a buddy, he is dead now from an OD but that is another story, who rode since we were kids and he would carry a rock in his jacket and if someone tried to kill him he would heave the rock through their windshield and even the score!

That might provide some momentary 'ha ha, gotcha a-hole' satisfaction, but it could get you run over too.

Just like guys that advocate dropping some ball-bearings or old spark plugs if they're being tailgated.
Break the wrong guys windshield and he may just plow over you.

Gives all riders a bad name too.
Plus, it won't all of a sudden make people start driving sanely.

Best idea, let it go, enjoy the rest of your ride.
Don't give other people the power to piss you off.

heh - yeah it's just nice to hear some other rants.

Some people just think they are entitled to the road and everyone else can f-off.

The best thing to do is let them know what they did. Most don't have any idea their ether to busy on the cell phone or what every, the point is that it may save the next biker from death.

Glad you are OK, Drew. Could have been ALOT worse.

Just my opinion, but I don't think there is anything you can do to improve the situation when a traffic incident happens like this. either the idiot who made the mistake realizes their mistake, and will try not to do it again, or they are oblivious, and there's nothing you can do to point it out.

a roadside encounter is never going to be a level-headed conversation, and you will not get through to them that they made a mistake. either they know it, or they will get mad at you for pointing it out.

this is my take, of course. the best is to ask what you could have done better to avoid the situation, then forget about it all and don't let it affect your day.

sounds like you're riding the hell outta that Bonnie, Drew. Keep it up!

All the best,
nick

Thanks Nick your right, hell I only have my permit and frankly that's all a cop would care about - no matter what I would be under suspicion.

Overall the commute this morning was great - nice cool Fall air puts a smile on your face.
