$1200 in Accessories

I see the American website is offering $1200 in free accessories if you purchase a new 07 Speedmaster or America between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30. Too bad it isn't offered anywhere else. Anybody able to capitalize on this offer??

$1200?

That's just for starters!

Same offer they had in the Spring... which I took advantage of when I bought my S3. The best part is that you can usually get the dealer to apply the $1200 credit to your OTD price. Combine that with some expert negotiations on a leftover bike and you can get a new bike for close to a used bike price!

When I bought the 06 there was an offer of £500 of accessories. The sales bloke knew I already had an America, and I said "I don't need any accessories, can I have money off the bike?". I got £400 off....

I've had three great weekends my new Speedmaster, but it sure would have been nice to get the $1200 (or the accessories)!

Still, the dealer only had the one '07 Speedmaster in stock, so I suppose I would have had a harder time getting my hands on it if I had waited for this deal. I'm much happier having this sweet bike than I would have been if I had lost out on it by waiting for the great deal.

I wonder how sales were this year compared to last year.

Yes that is something that would be good to know. I would like to see US sales for Triumph versus Victory and HD. I was thinking of getting a Victory Kingpin as a second bike. I have heard very good things about Victory. I know some people have gotten exhausted waiting for the promised revision of the Speedmaster.

I know that Victory is big on extras like a simple anti vibration handle bar. I think they could be a serious competition for Triumph here in the US. I do love my Rocket but I also have an interest in the King pin.

On the BHO forum, someone posted that HD is cutting back production and delivery to its dealers. The thread said Triumph was selling all the bikes it could produce, but sales of recreational vehicles are off due to the "sub-prime mortgage" mess and fluctuating interest rates.

However, if anyone wants a Harley, just come to Alabama. As of last weekend, there was a "for sale" Harley in the front yards of a whole bunch of houses.

When was promotion made public?

My dealer tells me thast he didn't know about the $1200 in accessories promotion when I purchased my America on Agust 29, thus missing $1200 in accessories by three days.

His rationale is that Triumph doesn't want people to know in advance so that sales will not be interrupted. It makes sense if we are talking well in advance, but I imagine that the promotion must have been made public some time ahead of its start.

Does anyone know when that was? Or how to find out?

I think I read about it in August but I can't prove it now because articles are not dated usually.

Many thanks
