bar end mirror vibration

Well, I made my own bar ends mirrors from the stock, and they look great, but the vibrate alot. Should I get bar dampers or weights or whatever, does that really help?

I put rolls of pennies in the handlebars. It did not do squat. The Napoleons are vibro-matic. They are great mirrors, I can see a lot with them. I just don't really know what I am seeing.

It's not just the Napoleons. I moved from stock bars to M bars with stock mirrors, and the stock mirrors vibrate like mad on the M bars. The Naps vibrate more. I think a roll of pennies wouldn't be enough weight. Steps try try include: balance the carbs, use a thin sheet of rubber inside the bar clamp, and I will soon be filling my bars with lead shot.

Thumbs up My Naps

I installed my Black Naps on the stock handlebars using the custom setup I created at the hardware store and posted on the Nap Post a week or so ago. Mine work perfectly, give me perfect rear view vision and are vibration free. That's all I know and that's the story I'm sticking to. If anyone wants to get Naps and install them on their stock bars I would be happy to share how I did it and exactly what you need to buy. I think the whole conversion cost me around $5.

CRG's do not vibrate on my M's or stocks. Not even a tiny bit. You could, however, try to use rubber washers to isolate the mirrors from the bars; might help a bit if your on a tight budget.

Hedge- Your Naps would vibrate on my M's. My theory: If you can feel the bars buzzing in your hands, the mirrors will vibe. So I'd be fascinated to hear from those for whom the M bars don't buzz....

Thumbs up rubber washers / spacers

Dave - I used rubber washer / spacers within my setup as well so maybe that is why I'm vibration free as well!

BlueJ, My bars vibrate more than stock, but the mirrors don't, or if they do it must be very slight because I honestly cannot detect it.

You can try filling them with silicone, (a can with a calking gun fills them up). Fill it from each end.
Also, a Barsnake works for bar vibration.
Chances are that your mirrors happen to be just the right size to have a harmonic vibration with the bar. Tighten them, loosen them, make the mount solid or rubber. One of those might work.
