Battery Strap ?
I bought my Bonneville used so I don't know if it came with a battery hold down strap when new.
Over speed bumps I hear what I think is my battery bouncing up and down a bit. ( I know...slow down and it won't do that.. )
Was/is there supposed to be a strap of some kind ?

Yes. You'll see the curled metal front and rear of the batt. box. Rig something up to keep it still. Oh, cool looking machine. Those Blacks get it.

It does come with a strap
But they rot pretty quickly, so some of us use velcro or cable ties instead.
I must admit I haven't got one fitted and I can honestly say that I haven't noticed my battery is jumping around.

I bought my '04 used this Spring. This Summer I read a thread about rotten battery straps, so I checked mine. It was about to snap, so I asked my dealer to get me a new one. When I picked it up I expected to pay for it, but he just gave it to me. First freebee he has given me, so this is probably a common issue.

Cynr1023 Thats the Triumph Solo Seat (68 seat). I didn't care for the stock seat much. This seat has a really nice feel and Im happy I bought it.
The single seat w/luggage rack was my 2nd choice....maybe later
As for the battery box...I guess I'll just use a couple of zip ties and call it a day. Thanks guys.
