Time for 1st service?

After riding all day I now have 386 miles on my 07 black, figureing on haveing 500 by monday night. What is the exact recomended oil i need to by? Moble sinthetic motorcycle oil right? The dealer has it for 80 bucks a gallon, BUT my local parts guy has it cheaper, I looked at it, its moble sinthetic motorcycle oil for 55 buck a gallon, he also said i can do the oil change there and use his filter tool. oil and filter is all i have to do for 1st service right?

Yes, the non-Triumph branded Mobil synth motorcycle oil is entirely fine. There are other good synthetics out there too. Save your receipts for the oil and filter in case of warranty questions later.

There are a few other things on the 500 mile checklist, however; mainly checking bolt tightness, chain and cable slack, etc. Your owner's manual should list them, or you can download the service schedules directly from Triumph's Web site.

The last time I checked, the Triumph Mobil oil was about $50+ at the dealer. $80 is outrageous.

oil

Make sure whatever synthetic oil you use isnt energy conserving oil w/ Moly in it. It will trash your clutch! I use Amzoil MC oil & all is great. Clutch especially loves it.
