Move forward controls?

New member here.

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I have tried the search function without success.

I am thinking of buying a Speedmaster but I do not like forward controls.

I am 6 feet tall and have read that some reviewers have found the forward controls to be too far forward.

Has anyone relocated the forward controls or is there a kit?

I'm 5'9" and they aren't forward enough for me actually ! I mean, they're fine, but i look at harleys and they are further as apparent when i see riders with thier legs much straighter than mine. But in any case, there is a company called Rassk that makes a set that brings them back 4". It's expensive tho, and from what i've seen they looked a bit funky. I have yet to see anyone buy a set in the 2= years i've been here. But thats the only one available AFAIK. Someone here did rig up a set of rearsets for it tho, so uou may wanna check for that thread and see whether you can fashion a set like he did. Thread was only about a week ago so it should be easy to find.

Thanks.

I did see that post and I don't want to go as far as rearsets.

Yes.

I had a 1972 650 Bonneville many years ago which I really loved.

I recently rode a new generation Bonneville and did not like it as much as I thought I would.

It may sound silly, but one of the things I did not like about it was the wind blast and a feeling that, on acceleration, I was going to slide off the seat.

I have a KLR650 now which, as you probably know, has a small fairing and a flat but not horizontal seat.

That is why I was thinking of a Triumph which does not have a flat seat which led me to the America and the Speedmaster.

Lower bars will fix the windblast problem for about 50 bucks. I agree, stock the bike is hard to ride over 50mph. It feels great sitting in the showroom, but awful on the road.

Look M, I would agree with Dazco on the positioning of the foot rests. I'm 5'11" and would like to get the pegs/controls further forward. If you're really set on one, see if you can take a demo out and judge it from that before you buy. Good Luck.
