Question Jafrum Leather Bags

I've been looking for some side-bags for my T-100 and came across a brand called, "Jafrum." The price is very enticing (especially since my longterm plan is to get hard side bags) but I'm leary of the quality. Anyone out there have any experience with this brand?

I purchased a pair of the slant bags, they were nice bags for the price. I did send them back because they would not fit the Thruxton right.

I was very pleased with the quality.

Appreciate the feedback. Can't find any info on their website about mounting instructions; just that you don't need brackets because they are attached to the motorcycle frame? Did your bags have tie mounts or something else? Did you have any problems with them rubbing etc.?

The bags I bought had no mounting instructions with them, they were not a "yoke" type throw over. They would have required some sort of bracket and tie downs be attached to both the bags and the bike.

I did not go to the trouble of mounting them, because they were too tall to fit the Thruxton, they would have rubbed and set right on the exhaust. I did not want to take the chance of them ruining the pipes.

I am looking at this set right now.

If you are looking for inexpensive bags, you may want to look at motodirect also

I bought a pair and sent them back. Extremely poor quality, plus they also said they were height adjustable in the description and were NOT. That made them unusable even if i had wanted to keep them. jafrum refused to pay return shipping even tho they sold me a bag that was not usable due to an error on their part. they basically insulted me for even assuming i could get return shipping. And this by the way AFTER one of their operators had already told me i WOULD get paid for the cost of return shipping. lousy bags, lousy company.

I'm not saying they're all bad because some as you see are happy with them. I do feel tho that unless the ones i got werea fluke, most who are happy with they would not know what they're missing if they saw a set of willie and max.

So if you want some definate good bags, do what i did and go to willie and max. Their bags look like leather but are faux leather and look great. for only about $20 more i went from what i felt were junk to bags i was thrilled with and were constructed perfectly, were completely adjustable, and looked really great. However, as someone already said, you will need brackets to keep them from flopping around and/or hitting things and getting caught in the works ! you can make your own pretty easily, but whatever you do count on getting brackets.

Ignore the prices. Mine listed for $127 or something like that and i paid i think $80 at an online store who's name i cannot recall at the moment. . The prices on the W&M site are list so pay them no mind. i got the braided compact slant bags. Very small tho !! thats what i wanted, but i would suggest for most people go at least with the standard size if not large. the compact are barely big enough to a 6 pack in each. Not that i'd ever use them for that.

I bought these jafurm bags over a year ago and they are holding up
very well.
They are not the best quality they are of mid quality.
but, for around $50.00 if they fall apart I will just throw them away and
buy another set.
I bought the triumph slant bags for around $350.00 and they were totally
junk they fell apart in less then 6 months they were a big rip off.

Talking

Sounds like I should just bite the bullet and spend a few bucks and get a set of decent hardside bags. Don't want to take the position of getting new bags every six months (or riding season) so I'll start bargaining with the boss and see if she'll let me combine a few holiday gifts together to get the brackets and hardside bags (perhaps painted to match!).

Thanks again for all the great input...this site is really great for thinking through a purchase before jumping in!

Got a set of the $40 bags. They worked well, but you don't have any of the goodies with them. No waterproof liners (I guess you can use plastic bags). The flaps just arch over the bags. No Locks. But y'know I still think they are a value if you just want a place to stuff your junk for an overnight toot.
