Smile Carb Diaphram

Decided to install thruxton needles with the tank still on and full of fuel, took the tops of and removed the diaphram/piston assembly - being careful not to put a hole in it. Changed needle put diaphram back in - what a pig to re-seat the diapham, it's slightly to big and keeps popping back out. Anyhow I left the job to another day, when i came back to it THE DIAPHRAM HAD SEATED ITSELF!!!! put the top back on and jobs a good un!

Patience is a wonderful thing!

I have heard of people having a tough time with this job, and I've had mine out at least a dozen times and they have never once given me grief.

(cam chains on the other hand....whew!)

Only one of mine has trouble seating. The cap is tapered so it'll push the diaphram into the groove on install.

+1 to sweat & +1 to patience, us Brits excel at patience, the way my bike is at the moment I have to.
