Long distant Ride

On September 4, I will depart Sarasota Florida and drive to New York City.
Then back again.

Any suggestions for this cross country adventure?

I rode from socal to western michigan, make sure your route is well planned out I.E gas stops, when you are out on the realy open highway fighting the gail force winds and the hurricane blasts from big rigs you will find that your fuel consumption will increase dramaticly, dont be suprised if you hit reserve at about 85 miles, TANK BAG!!!!!!!!!!!111 GET ONE. I use one meant for a tiger and it is a life saver. any other q?s just ask Ill be glad to answer.

cheers.

Hey, Stealth, enjoy it. Try to stay off the superslabs. I made the run from Washington DC to Daytona for many years in the 60s and 70s. Used 301 a lot when I wanted a direct route and if in no hurry mapped out a route further inland to hit some foothill areas. Much prettier if you hang a left at the SC border and head west a hundred or so. BUT:

Ride, don't drive.

Seriously, it is interesting how language varies from different parts of the country. In the midwest there are "drivers" who "drive" anything with more than two wheels. People on two wheels are "riders." Here, nobody "drives" a motorcycle. If I hear someone talking about "driving" his motorcycle, or, better yet, his "scoot" chances are he isn't from here and chances are he's from somewhere pretty far south.

then again, maybe he IS driving. he does not specify, and I dont think you can pack enough wd for a trip like that on a bike(without a trailer)

Geez, Drew. I never knew Atlanta was in the south~ Guess I meant the Deeeeeeep South, as as in "Ghost of ScooterTrash Past." (great couple of books, those were. the other is "long rider.) Easily laughed my head off...................
