Trying to stay calm...getting close to losing it.
Oil Leak
Again
Same place - under cam cover
Fixed twice by the dealer
4800 miles on the bike...2006 bonneville
must stay calm. Om ... OM ... OM
This is really putting me in a bad mood and could turn me against new triumphs for good. I love the bonnie. Looks, Handling, Fun...Really everything I want in a bike. But I am a very picky person. I pay money for a product and I expect it to work. This better be covered by warranty again, or I will have a fit.
Taking it in to the dealer tomorrow. sorry for the short rant.

I think it is more common than the company would have us think. mine was "fixed" at 600 miles and again at 1200...

Over reacting a bit arent we? Perhaps the bike is holding true to the heritage of its brethern..( the Meridan Triumphs )...or maybe your mechanic just isnt applying any sealant to the gasket on the engine side.
Mines never leaked a drop...it's hit or miss

Had my cam cover fixed recently. The mechanic said 50% of the bikes leak - obviously the other half don't. He used blue locktite for the install. This was almost a thousand miles ago and no leak. I have heard other put a small bead of gasket sealant as well when installing a new one. Yeah, I'd be pissed, but it has to be able to be kept from leaking. Maybe consider the above? I am assuming neither the head or cover are slightly warped.

Mines never leaked a drop since new in 2001.
I have also replaced the cover with a chrome one and reused the
old rubber o-ring gasket never used any sealant.
I didn't use a torque wrench I just tightened then up tight then a
little tighter.
I have heard of some guys using some silicon on the o-ring to stop it
from leaking. Try socking them up a bit tighter and if that don't work
try the silicon. good luck

Take it easy
Do em to the correct torque other wise you may strip the threads in the head and don't overtighten them. If you warp the case It'll leak forever! That goes for any bike.
I think you'll find the gasket sealent is Blue Hylomar not loctite.
I could be wrong though so check.

I don't get it. This is not that complicated. My bike is a 2001. I changed to a chrome cam cover after about 1 yr. I was just careful. Made sure the gasket wasn't damaged either removing or re-installing. Put the gasket back on. Lined everything up, making sure of no pinches, folds or kinks,...retightened bolts. (Knock on wood) I have never had a leak anywhere on this bike.
Now my 68,....never mind....

that's a pretty minor problem to set you off Mattrat.
Here's how you fix it, and for good. Pull the cover, reuse the same gasket w/ a 1/16th bead of Red RTV silicon gasket sealer, reassemble done.
No leaks ever.
