Emgos, what else do I need ?

Hi folks,

Im picking up a set of Emgo reverse cones. Spare me the "the're garbage" speach. This will be more of an experiment to see how I like them.

These are the ones I'm getting: fourth down.

What else do I need to fit these to my pipes?

Thanks a bunch.

they're crap!! why else would i have em
you need the adapters from belacorse or newboneville and you may have to play around with the bracket. some emgoes have a hanger, and you could probably work with that. Mine didnt, they have 2 bolt holes, so I adapted a stock bracket to make it work

They're cheap, but they're not junk. I have some of those "Roadhawks"on my '71 Norton Commando. They have been on there since about 1988,and they're still fine. No rust,no rattles. They were way too quiet though, about like a stock Bonneville,so I removed the baffles(three screws). Now they sound great. And yes,I had to re-jet.

I got some of those Emgo shorty reverse meggas to put on the Norton, just because I don't like the looks of the Roadhawks, but when I got the Scrambler,I decided to put them on it instead. I need to get two short, slightly bent pipes, and make a couple of angled spacers, and bobs yer uncle.I might even go so far as to make some heat shields. I'll try to post pics of the procedure. Won't help you,but might help someone else.

Cheers!
Bruce

Still need help

Thanks for the info so far guys, but I still need some help.

I can't seem to find the adapters on the Newbonneville.com website and I can't even find the belacorse website all together.

A link would be incredible, but some further direction is all that is necessary.

Thanks again,
Jed

Below the full package, they offer just the connector pipes...

I had the short 17" reverse cones and I liked them. Good and loud, however I just sold them and now have a set of old burgess style peashooters. I thought they were good mufflers, ended up painting the black so I can't speak for the chrome quality, but for a fraction of the price of others, prettygood.

Looks like newbonnie has what you need(and they are generally a little cheaper too),but here's a link to BellaCorse:

http://www.bellacorse.com/

It's worth checking out. They've got some cool stuff.

Cheers!

Oops! Looks like I got beat on the draw with the BellaCorse link. That's probably all you will need, those little crooked pipes. Those mufflers come with adapters to fit everything from 1+3/8" to 1+3/4" ID pipes, plus a bendable bracket that bolts into a captive nut,in a sliding bracket.

If you are running the stock airbox, and filter set-up,you probably won't really have to re-jet. If you can't get air in,it doesn't really matter how much air you can get out.

Those little pipes almost look like they would work on my Scrambler. Anybody know?

Cheers!
