Valve Adjustment Help

So I'm trying to tackle valve adjustment for the first time on my T-120. I have the manual and I think I'm pretty clear on it, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a really good online guide or if anyone can give me a heads-up on what to watch out for or any good tricks. Stuff like that. Thanks.

make sure you have the marks lined up. put all the cam caps in the same place they were. dont mix up the cams, have an extra banjo bolt, the cam cap bolts are tough to get off so have a good NEW torx. digital micrometer for measuring shims, and i think you should be all set. put the bike in 5th gear when you jack it up, pull the plugs, and you can rotate the motor that way to check each set of valves and to get the motor at top dead.

Inane, you'll probably be able to get a lot more relevant advice over in the classics forum...

This fourm is for 'New' Hinkley Bonnevilles which are double overhead cam engines now and a completely different valve adjustment procedure.
Good luck.

Some of us have, or had, older Bonnies. But Rick is right on. There is almost no relationship between how you do a valve adjustment on a Hinckley Bonnie and a Meridian Bonnie. You'll get better advice on the Vintage forum, and someone there may have a step by step procedural; and there may be one in the list of Wiki support info, so check there also.

Good luck,

Monte

Never the less the advice was useful.

I need to do the cam timing on my 790 2003.
So the advice was not posted in vein, especialy the little hint about the torques etc.

Thanks again

Jon (UK)

I myself understand push rod engines better, Cam Chains kinda worry me, I'm not very good at counting links.
