Air box elimination kits - flavor of the week?

Does anyone have any recommendations for the current best air box elimination kit? There seem to be at least half a dozen out there, including a couple of new ones in the last few weeks (and one due out right around now but I don't remember who that is).

A creative person would destroy the existing 'box, but I'd prefer to keep it intact.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Alex

Other Motorcycle: one is enough but I'd love a thruxton just to use for cafe racing.

to do or not to do...

I take my bike to a mechanic who works from home and is very highly regarded by many motorbike riders. He has also had a lot of experience with the new Triumph twins. I recently got him to remove the AI from my bike and give it a good tune and change the jets etc. He did a great job.
I also asked him if he'd recommend I change the air filter system, as I had heard it was too restrictive. He seemed of the opinion that doing so would only have marginal effect on the performance and not worth the expenditure.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who has actually replaced theirs (and what with) and what difference it made.

I would just get the ARK that could get to your house quickest. I got the NARK from newbonneville.com and I am very please with it.

It makes an amazing difference at least according to how the bike rides and sounds. I haven't put it on a dyno yet but the bike seems like a new bike. I never had the front wheel come up before I did NARK + Pipes. When I give it full throttle a fog horn sound comes from down by the carbs.

I got the British Customs ARK and it was a nice fit and all the parts had a place to go. It does feel like a different bike, it was an instant improvement. You will hear the intake roar when wide open, and you will feel it. You should get less restrictive exhaust pipes while you're at it, though. At least the Triumph Off Road (tors). I really like the sound from my BC predators, and they're stainless and look great. SOme would say they're too loud, I think they are great and if you're easy on the throttle you can keep the noise down (like when you're riding next to a cop). I like the BC kit because it came with K&N filters and stainless hardware.
There is a new kit from Jenks that includes a toolbox, that would be nice but it was unavailable at the time.
My local dealer told me that an airbox removal would just make more noise. WRONG. Look at the dyno runs other members have posted at the wiki.

Your mechanic doesn't know what he is talking about--especially on a 790, IMHO. Getting rid of the airbox and installing more open silencers makes the difference between night and day for these engines. Mine felt like it was lifting the front wheel in first, second and third gears when the tach hit 5500 rpm after putting the NARK on bonnie.

Get rid of that airbox, get more open silencers, get it jetted properly, AND hold on tightly for FUN, FUN, FUN!

Oh, I have also averaged 50+ mpg for the 18000 miles the NARK has been installed. I haven't touched the carbs since installation--I have checked the balance twice and it was spot on both times.

check out the Wiki link on the left of the page. There are a few DIY solutions. I cut mine up this weekend and it doesn't even feel like the same motor. The throttle response is unreal, and it just pulls and pulls and pulls.

Thumbs up Peter Jenks

He's designed an ARK in the UK, that will go into production very soon.
He's been R&Ding it on his own bike for about 8 months now and it's got a couple of small but significantly useful differences to the others around.

I had one on order but had to widthdraw it because I had to spend some money on a few ignition bits, but I'm definatley in for one this winter, when I do some more mods.

His website doesn't have a price on it yet, but I'm sure it'll be competative.
I really trust this guys quality, engineering experience, and tuning expertise, that coupled with the fact that he develops evrything on his own bike first makes him a top guy in my estimation.

check it out.

Unfortunately with the exchange rate at 2dollars to the pound it may not be competitive, and I agree Jenks is a good guy to work with.
