Newbie - Hello

Just about to buy a Bonnie -

Just curious on what louder exhaust the forum recommends.

Here in the states (Atlanta, GA) we have a lot of young drivers in very large SUV's - just thought it would be helpful to be heard if I am not seen.

Thanks to all -

I have predators from British customs. I love them. Not too loud, not too quiet. The sound is different, not just louder. They sound mean and nasty. There is a video of a guy on thrux with preds on youtube. Check that out.

Thumbs up Predators from British Customs!

Drew - first of all welcome aboard! You have really landed in a fabulous place and you will find a wealth of information here on just about anything! I also have the Preds and love them! As said somewhere else on this forum they give the bike that 1972 Norton Commando look! I went ahead and shot the lock off the wallet and ordered the British Customs (BC for now on) Performance Package which comes with the Preds. I then added to my order the Nology Pro Fire Coil, Nology Hot Wires, the Dyno Jet Kit and 2 NKG Iridium plugs and had them slap that on as soon as she was uncrated! I also had the Tacho conversion kit installed and a center stand at the same time and had them throw in an all weather cover. Looking back I truly feel that I didn't waste a penny! Talk to Sean Hicks at BC he will set you up right! The only thing I should have done from the GetGo was change that God Awful Seat they give you. I am in the process of getting squared away with a 2 up K&Q or a GF&L from Corbin for the wife and I and then I;m gonna get a Solo seat with rack from Triumph.
Warning - once you begin to mod there is no turning back and you will now have entered the Jungle with the rest of us!

Come on in, the waters fine! The bike I bought used had the preds already installed, I thought it was too loud, I do not feel that way anymore. I really dig them now. Welcome!

My 2 cents.

Heard Predators a couple of weeks back on a used Bonnie that a guy bought in NYC. They sounded very loud to me. The guy said that his neighbors were not real happy with him, and if they weren't already on the bike, he wouldn't have bought them.

I have Norman Hyde Togas. None of my neighbors, even a neighbor right behind me with a one year old, has complained. On the road, though, the sound is there. A deep, throaty growl that draws the attention of 90 year olds going 20 mph and 19 year olds text messaging as they're driving. I can't pass a group of people, especially guys hanging outside a fire house, without them going silent as they hear me approach. I have to wear earplugs when I ride, or the NHs would give me a headache from the rumble inside my helmet.

I'd recommend trying to hear the different pipes in person, if you can.

Your opn

Thanks everyone! This forum rocks!

Here's a rundown of what I'm getting out of the box -

2008 Bonneville Black
Upgraded Horn - Always good to be heard
BC Predator Exhaust - Always good to be heard
Bike Cover
Wheel Lockout - I live in downtown Atlanta
JP Helmet - DOT approved and they look cool
Connnaught Jacket - cheaper than the Romero - but still has padding.
Bohn Cool Air Pants - for under my jeans
Leather Bike Boots and Armored Gloves - any brand (undecided)

My budget is a little over 9K - money well spent?

+1 on the predators, I like them better than the D&D's that were on the bike when I bought it. I would recommend that you open up the intake and re jet accordingly. removing the airbox is a major change to the airflow
