Question tool kit

A can of "fix a flat" or slime or? WhaTEVER is the most fitting. I use slime w/ pressure enuff t oget t o a station. Not a real fix Just temp . Will limp you to a shop. Beyomnd that a screwdriver w/ a philips/ slotted reversable bit, pliers & some duct type tape. A jumper wire can be handy as well. Not much you can do on the road these days cept keep on goin as best you can? Sm vice grips will be better than pliers?

A Swiss Army knife, an adjustable wrench and some zip ties.

I bought one from NB made by Cruz tools. had evrything you need. except duct tape and extra spark plugs. I think www.jcwhitney.com has the same one that I bought for cheaper.

first thing you need to do is talk to some one mechanical, and learn a few basic pointers on roadside maintenace tools are useless if you dont know what your doing just a suggestion..

zip ties/Bungies

I carry zip ties & bungies, because I have noticed the the sidestand spring sometimes fails, & when that happens you aint goin nowhere.
An adjustable wrench is also good for the spokes, just had my 1st flat, the tire slime was useless, best thing I had was AAA RV/Motorcycle Plus, flatbed tow up to 100 miles

What goes wrong on the road?

I'm thinking along the lines of RonD. Instead of "Which tools do I take?", I wonder "What can go wrong that can be fixed on the road?".

Since I haven't been disabled yet except for one flat tire, DannyChrist's information about tying up the sidestand is good. I'll have to find a place on the bike to stash some zip ties, maybe where the owner's manual used to live.

I always carry a small flashlight with me, because if you can't see it, you can't fix it. I'm quite sure that's an essential item.

I have the AMA MoTow service, but I'm not sure how effective it is.
