Metzeler Lasertec

Just got the front tire replaced. I thought I'd get the Bridge Bat but got the lasertec instead. Feels kinda weird but I'm sure it's cause I had 14000 on the old front tire. Any thoughts on the lasertec?

I like the Lasertec front just fine. Its probably not going to see beyond 10k, but I do a lot of riding on county roads. Pretty hard on tires. I got over 11k on the original, but should have changed it sooner.

I put the Lasertec on my T100 this summer because the Laser is no longer available and Metzler tech support indicated that the Lasertec had superceded the Laser. I don't have many miles on it since the changeover, but I've not noticed anything unusual. I had 9K on my original Laser, and should have changed it sooner, since it was just below the minimum recommended tread depth. If you went to 14K on yours, I would think any new tire would feel odd. See if you get used to it, or if instead, it feels just plain odd, and go from there.

Always check the air after a tire install hell mine was 62 psi.

use the laser!

Checked the air pressure and found it to be .. slightly high. 50psi. But the back tire had 35 psi... so good thing I got that reminder to check..

What do you have on the rear? If you're mixing brands, it could account for things feeling funny. Mixing brands is hit or miss as far as whether the tires work well together, which is why it's not a recommended practice.

Bridge bat

That's probably what's happening. I have a Metz on the front and a bridge on the back.

To me the Lasertecs feel kinda squirrely . Don't know what to think about them . I was actually considering the Bstones or even the avons . If I do it I'll post the tires up on here ( the stock metzlers w/ 800mi ) at a serious discount . How were the B stone 45s ?

Thumbs up Lasertec Love

Replaced the stock Bridgestones with Lasertecs F&R over a year ago, they feel noticeably better to me than the OEM Battlax's in every way, inspiring confidence in the twisties...also, the rear Lasertec is a beefier tire with a taller & wider profile than the Battlax, fills up the rear fender space noticeably & looks mo betta! I check pressure before every ride to spec, 33F & 38R...

Cheers,

D9

I just had to replace the rear on my '07 I was unable to get a 130/70/17 MEZ2 for the back so I ended up getting a 140/70/17 Lasertec aand I can say the ride is much better. While I haven't pushed it too hard yet I can say it does handle better. Just my $0.02.
