Head/Carb Question

I am getting closer to taking apart my 04 thrux. For the time I have ruled out a BB kit. I am also ruling out 39mm and 42mm carbs because I want a motor that makes a ton of mid range.I want it to run strong between 3500 and 6000 rpm.
Has anyone done the head work with the larger valves and the 36mm smooth bores? I would love to see a dyno on that motor to see where the power is and mabye how it stacks up with the larger carbs. I am guessing that it should make about 70 to 75 hp with preds and a airbox kit with a lot of midrange power.
Thanks for the feedback.

I doubt you'd make that much hp at the wheel but I don't think I've ever seen a dyno with that exact set up. Judging from other posts, bolting on a set of hi-po carbs and tuning accordingly should net +5 hp or so.

Dont understand why your ruling out a bb or carbs if you want the bike to pull hard between 3500 and 6000 rpms...

Do the bb kit and headwork, you'll be very near the power you want..( with stock carbs )....and it'll drive like a totally different machine.

big bore, carbs, done.

there is no other way.

First of all, the big valves will NOT fit with the stock pistons, and they don't make all that much of a difference anyway, I don't think, at least with stock cams.

Big bore, carbs, period. If you're wanting smaller carbs go w/ mikuni TM36s, not the crummy 35mm smoothbore junkers.

Would a BB kit and the TM36mm carbs, no head work, net 75 rear wheel HP?
