Kinda Pissed

My T100s going in for the second time in less that a month for a warrenty issue. i was at the dealer today and some cat was checking out my bike, he says why is there oil leaking from the rocker covers after only 500 miles. i said "what" and went out and looked, sure enough they were leaking. I pulled the bike in the back to the service dept. and they said they would order me new gaskets but the bike will have to come in for a couple of days when they arrive. This is starting to get old!!! I've only had it for six weeks and 1 week was in the shop, now I gotta take it back again...crap

Don't worry about the cam cover gasket, many of them do it, and Triumph is willing to fix it, although they shouldn't need "a couple of days" with advance notice and gaskets in hand. Maybe "a couple of hours".

I agree, a couple days is just poor shop management on the dealers part. It may be time to get a little demanding and get same day service at the very least.

I don't understand WHy??? these dealers do not have valve cover gaskets in stock when 50% of them leak within the first year of ownership.

My bike was in the shop 12 days out of the first two months I owned it. A fuel issue, and everyone told me "they never had fuel issues on a bonnie" I almost got run over for my trouble one time picking up my bike at the shop after they had "fixed" the problem. It took three trips to the shop to finally get it right. And I was about 50 miles from the shop. The great thing was they paid to have it picked up and dropped off. Now that it is fixed I'm happier than a pig in poop. Check out the message boards here and you will be able to see some of the "standard" new bike maintenance issues that way it doesn't feel like it's you v. triumph. Keep riding!!

no parts at the dealer

My dealer doesn't want to stock any parts, not even the no-brainer stuff like these gaskets, and clutch cables. And this is one of the better dealers.

I run a business and I keep spares of items which are used frequently. They are not universal. Nothing beats the happy look on a customer's face when you can take care of a little problem.

Valve cover gaskets are dirt cheap standard spares and should always be stocked especially when they know there are so many problems.

Having said that, after the dealer tried to fix my oil leak (twice) and I was told they had no torque wrench, I bought one and did it with my friend. Guess what no oil leak.

I should show pictures of what the dealer and his so called Triumph trained mechanic did when they were "fixing" the bike before.
