I dropped my helmet...

so I'm off to buy a new one this weekend...and I'm thinking of buying a bluetooth headset for my phone and iPod to go with the new helmet. anyone using one of these? which brand/model should I be looking for?

I think I'm going to buy a HJC CL-Max (modular) to replace my CL15 - if that helps for fitting?

I once dropped my Arai helmet
and it was fine after having it checked.
but this was from a waist high. Cardo makes specific
BT headset for mc helmets.

the helmet fell off the handlebar :hammer:
It's probably ok but I'd rather not find out the hard way.

Cardo Scala Rider works pretty well for me, but it only has one earpiece so you aren't going to get stereo !

They seem to be a decent make though - maybe they do a stereo product ?

I'm using the Scala Rider with a Garmin Zumo GPS and Treo cell phone. I keep the Treo in a rack bag on the sissy bar and the phone menu appears on the Zumo. Headset works pretty good up to about 45 MPH, then the mic picks up too much wind noise. The speaker is great - you can hear Zumo instructions at any speed - but it is a single speaker, and the fidelity is not so good for music - but great for a spoken voice.

Generally, I use the headset for the GPS instructions - every now and again I will use it for the cell phone - I would rather not talk on the phone when riding...

You might check on a Nolan helmet. They now have one or more models already wired for Bluetooth.

Going on reviews of the Scala & Blueant Interphone - I chose the latter. Similarly, only with a single earpiece it works well with GPS & phone.

I would think your helmet is ok from a fall that high especially without a head in it to crush or deform the inner shock absorbing medium. The outer shells of helmets are surely more durable than that. What if you head bumps the ground more than one time in a crash?
