Life expectancy for a new Bonnie battery strap is about 6 months. They're made with the crappiest material known to man. I'm not sure why they are needed. I don't ride upside down all that often anymore.

6 mos- You probably get the longevity award. Youd think they would make something so inexpensive oughta better material. I think they made them oughta old used tire tubes!!
Youd think Triumph (as a gesture of good will & PR) would send all owners of the Bonne a new one? Needed? I like to think my battery is secured in case of an accident if for no other reason? :???:

The rubber is really crappy. my first one dry rotted in under a year, the replacement is already dry rotted and has been on about 2 months. I'm gonna try a nylon strap

Guzzi rubber does the same thing. Triumph must be getting them from Mandello
