I'm at work tonight and the OL said UPS just delivered my package from NB. In it is a fork brace I want to install in the A.M.

I'm thinking about how I'm going to attack getting those plastic protectors off the top of the legs with out having to totally disassemble them from the trees.

Can they be popped lose from where they are fastened and then be lifted up enough to cut off?

Anyone got a short cut for this job.

they're just plastic, I bet you can slide them off with a few taps from a dead blow hammer and then carefully cut them with a dremel or another tool. That would be faster than pulling the front end for sure.

Thats what I'm hoping and if no one
chimes in with a difinetive answer thats what I'm going to do.

I was thinking once they are lose...I've a really large set of bolt cutters.

Also in the package, don't go getting jealous on me,
Ohlins, steering dampener and Ikon progressives.

Yep,cutting will be way faster and easier.Just stick a 2x4 under the leading edge and whack it.

Maybe I have missed something but won't you have to pull the forks to install the progressives anyway?

Nah, that'll work. I used a plastic hammer, tapped it once good right on the bottom edge, then once on the opposite side, and off they come. Something to protect the fork legs is good tho, gaiters do the job but the forks do need to come off, or at least slid down, to install them
