Anyone have a nice clean method for removing the rear fender reflectors. They look like they're attached with 2 sided tape with foam in the middle.
I'm getting the Lucas style lighting kit (old school) and i don't think the reflectors will look right.

Help.............Cheers

1. Heat em up with a hairdryer
2. Start at the front an slowly peel them off
3. Use your thumb to roll off most of the remaining tape
4. Use a cloth and WD-40 to clean up the residue
5. Stand back and admire your handy work

Nothing to it. Even I could do it.

If I remember correctly, I took a plastic knife and slowly sliced through the tape. Then I peeled and cleaned off the rest with some glue remover. Just be paitent and careful and it should come off with ease.

I just did mine on the weekend with information from others on the Forum.

1. Use a long length of dental floss and wrap it around both hands so you have about 6 inches free (between your hands)
2. Start at the bottom of the reflector and with a continuous steady pull cut the foam tape with the dental floss. The "tink tink sound" you will hear is the rteflector hitting the ground.
3. Cover the rear tire (AND DISC!!!!) with rags and carefully spray the remaining foam with WD40. Let it soak in awhile and spray it again. I say again keep the WD40 off the disc and brake pads.
4. Using your thumbnail work away alternating between scraping, wiping, and spraying until the offening remaining tape is gone.
5. Clean the fender and wax. :-D :-D :-D

+1 to the dental floss, but remember to heat em up for a bit or you risk taking some of the paint with you.
