The retro Triumph Scrambler is now available in the über-cool shade of Matt Black. This unique motorcycle with its authentic styling and characterful 865cc engine has redefined the off-road machines of the sixties, made famous by thrill-seeking heroes such as Steve McQueen.

The Matt Black Scrambler is the latest bike from the Triumph line-up to become available in a distinctive black colour option. The Bonneville Black has become a permanent fixture in the Triumph range, whilst the Jet Black 675 and the Matt Black Speed Triple, both released earlier this year, have been flying out of dealerships.

Also available in Roulette Green/Aluminium Silver, Tornado Red/White and Caspian Blue/White, the Scrambler can be personalised with genuine Triumph accessories, ranging from bash plates and headlight grilles to number boards and handlebar braces. The Scrambler costs £5,899 OTR and is available now for a test ride from your local dealer.

Sorry for the redundant post, but I'm curious, Cgar380, where you got the info about the black Scrambler not being available in the US? Is that just for the time being, or never?

Thanks,
Rich

Color and chrome are what does it for me

I was originally going to get a Bonnie to replace my 72 Daytona that I loved so dearly, but when I saw the swept back chrome pipes on the Scrambler it was love at first sight.... it took until early '07 to work out the financing, but when i saw the flat black engine on the '07 line it just didn't do it for me and I had to hunt down a red and white '06 with the brushed aluminum engine that is just the way a classic motorcycle should look.... I threw on the TOR's to give her the retro throaty growl needed to match her absolute beauty..... also went for the Union Jack tank cover and when I'm riding I look down and am constantly reminded of the pure joy that is British steel..... the all black Bonnie is a thing of beauty, but a Matt(e) black Scrambler just doesn't do it for me..... I've become a diehard RAT guy and will never own anything but British steel..... I test drove a Rocket III at Daytona and one of the hottest things any woman has ever said to me was when my fiancee got off the test ride and said "oh, honey, that is definitely our next bike"...... it was right up there with the time she followed me home from the dealer after making an appointment to have the TOR's installed and she told me the bike was way too quiet...... i've found the perfect woman and am riding the coolest bike ever...... i'm riding year round in Florida and will take riding in the rain over driving a cage in the snow any day...... ride what you love and love what you ride.....

The engine is brushed laquered finish, not the black one. I actually prefer it, as I think that would've been too much black... can't believe I'm saying that!

Anyway, I have a plan to de-chrome the bike completely, replacing everything with brushed metal or black anodised finish. This includes:

Zard 2-into-1 high exhaust
Black mirrors
Anodised bars
Lucas "sport" brushed tail-light and indicators
Anodised rear rack
Alloy rims, black anodised, with brushed stainless spokes

In addition, other mods planned are:
High flow air filter
Jenks snorkel replacement
Rolling Road setup
Ikons front and rear
Norman Hyde brake upgrade

After that, I'm guessing it's decision time:
1100cc kit plus either new carbs or megasquirt
Air-box removal

And finally, putting the beast on a diet and see if there's any way to lose about 30-40 kilos in weight (including the changes listed above)!

So, that should be the next couple of years sorted!!!!!
What is the megasquirt air box removal you are talking abouot? it sounds like fuel injection to me is taht the case? is there a link to this?
