Is it possible that the matte (flat) black will just be offered in the UK? I've called all of the local dealers in my area and they know nothing about any new Scrambler colors...or are they just trying to sell their present stock?
I've been saving my pennies and working towards getting one of the scramble machines for a while now. A black one would just about be the deal-maker for me.
Has anyone mentioned that a picture would be nice?

Thanks for the link, NewOldSkool.
Very sweet and as Triumph says: "...uber-cool shade of Matt Black" +1
Personally I would also gone with the black side covers as well.

Depends which side of the water you come from. Over here on the British side of the planet it's "matt".
Looking forward to seeing the pics, Ian. Congratulations!

That settles it, I've got to get my tank repainted from the drop and bump it took, I was thinking about matt(e) black(e) (hehe) and that sealed the deal. I'll paint the side covers my self but the tanks going to a painter when the rest of the bikes getting worked on. Really trick looking bike you got there!

Hey Matte - That's an awesome looking bike. I hope they do not release it as a Bonne Black Special Edition Scrambler or I'm out another $10k after mods! I'm feeling Steve McQueenish just looking at her!

Thanks guys. It was a toss-up between getting a black/red bonnie and modding it to Scrambler spec or getting the Scrambler.... I was swaying towards the bonnie, then the matt black came out!!!! Throw in the £750 of accessories that Triumph are including for free and it was a no brainer for me!
The engine is brushed laquered finish, not the black one. I actually prefer it, as I think that would've been too much black... can't believe I'm saying that!
Anyway, I have a plan to de-chrome the bike completely, replacing everything with brushed metal or black anodised finish. This includes:
Zard 2-into-1 high exhaust
Black mirrors
Anodised bars
Lucas "sport" brushed tail-light and indicators
Anodised rear rack
Alloy rims, black anodised, with brushed stainless spokes
In addition, other mods planned are:
High flow air filter
Jenks snorkel replacement
Rolling Road setup
Ikons front and rear
Norman Hyde brake upgrade
After that, I'm guessing it's decision time:
1100cc kit plus either new carbs or megasquirt
Air-box removal
And finally, putting the beast on a diet and see if there's any way to lose about 30-40 kilos in weight (including the changes listed above)!
So, that should be the next couple of years sorted!!!!!

Cool bike! I'm in the process of de-chroming my Scrambler now. Only the rims remain to be done. Be careful if you go my route and sand and polish the chrome for a brushed look. Some parts have a thinner layer than others and you can over sand quickly. I had best results with 3M 100 grit sanding sponges to start (lightly) and 3M 400 Flex Finishing Pads to finish (both dry and wet sanding).
