I am writing on the blackboard 100 times:

Always put the side stand down

This is the second time I have had to replace the clutch lever because I thought the side stand was down and as I got off bike it tipped over and bent it.

I would bet that the number one replacement part from Triumph is the clutch lever.

Bummer! How about using the sidestand to shut the bike off? That might help you remember??

Those levers can't be cheap.

I think that is a good idea to just use the side stand to turn off engine. Then I just need to be sure I turn the key also and take it with me. As I get older these things seem to get more difficult.

Actually a new clutch lever only costs about 30.00 which seems like a bargain in the Triumph Parts World.

You're right, 30 bucks ain't bad. That's surprising.

No worries, the Bonnie will keep you young at heart. :upthumb: Bent levers or speeding tickets, the money's gonna go somewhere.

Ya need a system. I turn off my bike the same way every time. Fuel off, check . Hit kill switch, check. Side Stand Down, double check.Solid ground for stand to land on check. Remove key. Step off walk a few feet and admire my bike and field questions on bike with on lookers.

after a oops in the driveway, my clutch lever has a curl in the end. I like it, it fits using 3 fingers to pull the clutch and one to hold on. my old xs650 went down in some soft ground and broke the lever clear off. a bent one can still be used, a broke one is useless and in the back f the pickup.

Cool lever

A bunch of friends have been supporting Triumph w/ their new clutch levers.
They dont re-bend well @ all! I wonder if a litle heat from a torch might keep them from breaking when trying t ostraiten them? I bent mine a litle - same thing cept I inched the bike fwd while on the stand & it was draggin a little, enuff to NOT hold the bike up. I & the bike fell against a wood wall so I took most of the hit. Bent a little but still works & looks OK. Something so simple = so easy to forget!!
