i forgot to remove my disc lock today and
cracked in half a piece of metal near my disc brake
(not the disc brake) when i took off....doh!!!
A few minutes later my front brake tightern up
and then stopped working. I was lucky cause I was
riding slowly. I rode my bike back home and was totally
bummed out cause i was getting ready to hit the beach.
I'm taking my bike to the mechanic on Monday.

peace smiles,

-kaj

Yeah - your not alone! I put the disk lock on my back brake and I have forgotten it twice. Luckily for me I was just rolling off the center stand when I realized it and only slightly bent the chain guard. I simply rolled it back, took the disk lock off and bent the chain guard back in place. No damage done. However, on the dumb factor I rated it at a 7 the first time because no one saw me; I rated it a 10 the 2nd time because my wife saw what happened before we went out for a ride. She said, "I don't know much about motorcycles but aren't you suppose to take that off before we go riding? Can that hurt the wheel?" Uh - Honey - STFU! I now have a ritual - unlock & take disk lock off, turn Petcock on, pull choke out, warm up bike!
