Morning guys.
I was at the dealer the other day and I saw a customer bike (06 America) with a nice little Givi screen on it. It was a real simple affair with two mounts direct to the handlebars. It looked easy to fit and, more importantly, easy to remove - and it was pretty sturdy to boot.
I have been thinking of getting some sort of screen for the speedy for a while now. Those highway miles are just a little wearing on times. However, I love the way the speedy looks without the screen and so anything I do fit has to be tinted, on the small side, look ***** fine, work and be easily removed (yep, i'm easily pleased
Anyone running a Givi on a Speedy, and if so - which model?

Paul I have not even tried to post pics but if you go to gear and gadgets forum on this site and do a search for windscreens you will find the GIVI screen that's whereI found it.

Mark ... I work with the Internet for a living ... and I still couldn't find anything about that Givi screen in gear and gadgets!!
Nevermind ... if you ever get any pictures up, let me know so I can take a look.
I think the screen that I like is a headlight mount - so it won't be any good. I'll take a look at the A600.

Finally got a look at some over on BA.com ... omg - my head is spinning!!
Still not sure what to do:
1. Grin and bear it
2. GIVI A600
3. GIVI A605
4. Sportech Cruise series ( http://www.sportechinc.com/prod_cruiser.aspx)
The thing I like about the Sportech screen is it is the only one that is truly removable in seconds. I like the A600/605, but once it is on and adjusted to suit - it aint really coming off again.
I really want a screen for the long runs and no screen for the putter around town and local riding.
I'll give it more brain-power and see where I end-up. At least the GIVI option is cheap if I don't end up liking it on the bike - so not a lot of money wasted.

I'm looking for a removable screen too, for the same reasons as you. But I didn't see Triumph as an option on the Sportech site. Do they make one for our speedys??

No ... they do not list a Triumph option, like a lot of vendors (unfortunately).
However, reading all the threads on BA.com about screens, one guy did follow-up with them to check the spacing etc. for the headlamp and back of the speedo. I am pretty sure he said it all checked-out, although I am not sure if he actually bought it or not.
I guess some simple measurements could tell us if the mounts will work around our risers etc. The key issue will be whether it fouls the back of the speedo or top of the light (as discussed above) and whether it will work with our under-handlebar indicators/directionals (although these could (and should?) be moved).
I love the idea of a screen but only really want it for the longer touring rides. This screen looks truly quick-on/quick-off ... if it works too - it could be great!!
Who's gonna buy one then?

Paul
Once i got the GIVI screen on and adjusted it was really only a matter of loosening a couple of allen screws and sliding the 2 rods that the screen is attached to right out.I thought i would want to take the screen off allot but once i adjusted so that my head is above the screen I find i like it better with the screen on all the time.No bugs in the teeth and wind off my chest.
