I was about to pull the trigger but am having a hard time on which style to choose and thought maybe I should pose the questions here first.

Are there any issues with these kits such as fit, finish or quality?

Are there better choices to be had?

I was thinking to looking into LED's with a run turn brake feature but don't know where to look or even if its offered for Bonnies. I had run, turn, brake led's on my springer and they where very sharp.

Choices are;
Lucas style
Sport style
Bullet style

If you have a pictures of one of these kits on you're bike I'd sure like to see.

Thanks in advance.

Bert,

I installed the plug'n'play Lucas light setup from NewBonneville on July 4. I'll try to post some pics later.

The fit and finish appear very good. Probably better than stock. The housing for the brake light is metal, and it appears that the stalks on the turn signals are metal too. The turn signals themselves are chrome colored plastic, just like stock.

While the wiring is "plug and play," the installation wasn't. The instructions are a bit brief and confusing, but you can figure it out just fine. My installation took a bit longer, however, because I also installed a Backoff LED License Plate Frame that I hard wired into the rear brake and running light. The thickness of the LED license plate frame, combined with the angle of the fender and the shape of the Lucas brake light made it a kind of tight fit, which slowed me down some. But the finished product is nice and visibility from the rear should be must improved.

I'll be interested to see the pics too. I have a NewBonnie set on order....approx 28 day back order wait + the carriage to the Uk, so not imminent !.....but looking forward to making the 'view from the rear' Retro like the rest of the bike.

Lucas, aka. "Prince of Darkness" supplied the electrics for the original Bonnie's. While the look was appealing, functionality SUCKED!, especially ignition components,...ever heard of a zener diode??? The uggems ugg of charging systems.

Old Joke: Do you know why the British drink warm beer?
Their refrigerators are made by Lucas.

And for just about every other British bike on the market throughout the 50's & 60s & into the 70's ....& all in virtualy the same style for 10's of years at a time, hence giving the right generic 'look'.
