I found the position of the gear shift lever a bit too high; I had to move my foot upward until it felt unnatural. This was aggravated with the riding posture with the M bars, so I turned it down once on the spline. For my foot, it is a much better position: a more natural feeling of moving upward through the gears and smoother shifts. Just finished a spirited ride and all is good.

How difficult was it to get the shift lever off?

I removed the bolt and it slid right off. I was going to mark the alignment on the shaft first in case I wanted to return it to the same spot, but my shaft has a dimple right where the split is on the lever. Yours probably does as well.

I did the same a few weeks ago. You can use the same allen wrench that's used to remove the seat.

SUPER easy and WAY more comfortable.

You do have to fully remove the screw.. Just loosening it isn't enough to pull the lever out. There is a groove that the screw sits in as a safety measure.

be careful not to lower it enough to where it would drag on the ground...

that could be disastrous.

One of the guys i took the rider endorsement course with had something like size 17 feet. We called him Sideshow Bob. :-D
