I have noticed that there is alittle oil (i believe) leaking from the top cover. Not sure if this is a common thing of clue that something is wrong. The bike doesnt even have 1k mile on it yet.
Thx guys

Sounds like you speak of the cam cover; mine leaks a bit on the left side rear. In fact, I am going to replace the gasket this weekend. As far as common, I do not know.

Leakage from the cam cover is fairly common with the Bonnies. Just reinstall the gasket but use a torque wrench. The cam cover bolts are known to snap when over tightened.

Could need a little gentle torque? Also could be cosmoline.
That s*** melts down for months. I hadpools of itfor 6 mo!.
Just wipeit off & keep an eye on where the oil is comming from - if it is oil? I had a pool 1/2" deep in the well for 3 mo till it finally stopped melting! It hideseverywhere- in the cooling fins- every where. Give it some running time then decide? :???:

the bolts don't snap, the head strips out. More specifically, the cam caps strip out. Easily fixed with heli-coils, but kinda scary to do...I did all 4 of mine.

Same thing's been happening on mine (but on the right side). I'll be replacing the gasket tomorrow.
