On Tuesday I took out my old airbox, replaced it with some Uni's, and put some DandD's on the bike. Going from stock cans to DandD's is intense.
My question involves rejetting. I replaced the mains with 42's, pilots with 130's, and put one shim under the needle. The bike runs great at idle and under 3k. However if I start to dog it seems like it's not getting enough gas. Its similar to when you are about to hit reserve just not as bad.
I have a set of 45 mains that I will probably give a shot to see if that helps fix the problem.
Any thoughts or ideas.....
Andy

It sure sounds like the main jet is too small, at least according to the description in the Jenk's Carb tuning guide.
How long did it take you to do everything?
Did you have to remove the gas tank to get this done or did you leave it in place?

Never having done it before it took me 5 hours start to finish. That was for the airbox, the exhaust, and rejetting the carbs. It was really pretty simple. On Brit Iron Rebels sight they have a couple of good videos that helped a lot....And yes I did have to remove the tank. Its super simple though. Maybe a 5 minute job.

Take out the 42's and the mains, go 140 main with stock idle jet, and leave the shim in.
You will like it

I use 140 for the main, 42 for the pilot and 2.5 turns out on the manual idle. I'm at sea level so it might be different where you're at. Also the dealership made a BIG mistake when they took my airbox out and switched to K&N filters. They didn't plug the carbs and left the air pump in. This caused a lot of back firing during shifting and motor braking. Now she runs like a bat out of hell!

Altlcrzy, I have the same setup as shruum and my bike runs like a champ. 42, 140,1 shim and 2.5 turns out should fix the problem. Just my 2 cents.

Sounds good to me. I just ordered some 140's from a local dealer. Should be in manana.
Thanks for the help guys,
Andy
