It seemed like the right thing to do - the 05 T100 was sitting at the local Triumph dealer with only 475 miles on her. Yeah, she just needing saving from non-use! Who buys a motorcycle and drives her only 475 miles the first two years!?

I was looking for something that could not only serve as a starter bike for my 28 year old boy (hey, he's a late bloomer) but a bike that I'd be proud to own and ride.

The Bonnie just seemed to speak to me.

Plus, a few days earlier, we were all watching the newly released movie, ONCE, about a Dublin street singer when out of nowhere, he and his girl hop on what looked to me like the exact same motorcycle - a Bonneville T100.

I took it as a sign from the motorcycle gods and marched down to the dealer the next day to lay down a deposit.

Mike... you made an excellent decision IMO. Your son is definitely one lucky young man!

Mike, you've done your boy proud. It will be good to see another Bonnie on the streets of Kansas City. There's a few but it's still a rare sighting.

Mike,

Since you obviously bought the bike at Engle Motors that in of itself was a great decision!!!! Norman Jones is a real gentleman. I believe that your son will really enjoy the T100.

A real gentleman indeed. I know Norm quite well - let's see - four BMWs and now the T100 over the last few years.

My son really had the hots for the Thruxton, but I'm thinkin' the Bonnie will keep him smiling big time.

I've been searching a couple of sites for some D&D pipes, etc. It's gonna be fun making a few adjustments while he's busy getting his license and safety courses under his belt. Heck, if he waits too long, I might have to let him ride one of the DUCs! :-D

Yep, the rest of the story is the Bonnie will be sitting in my garage even after my son gets through the courses and secures his license....

He'll be living a few blocks away, but since he's working fulltime, and I'm semi-retired....

Well, you get the picture.... now, the question is, Did I really buy the T100 for him...... or, for me? :-D
