Any know if the GIVI monokey bags work with bonnie's? The bags look nice, and I like the idea of solid bags..

Hi there,

I recently bought a T100 with entry level Givi panniers (with monokey) fitted. There are some pictures on page 10 of the (sticky) bonnie picture thread at the top of the forum.

I was thinking of keeping them off the bike until needed but find them so useful on a day to day basis that they stay on all the time.

Hope this helps!

Paul

Hi Paul, were these on the bike when you got her ?? & either way, do you know where the mounting kit for the panniers was sourced. I've a quandry with developing some carrying ability. I was thinking of looking out for some Craven boxes, but they'd inevitably be a bit 'tatty' & those entry level Givi's have just enough of an 'old fashioned' look & Retro lines to really suit the bike ( as well as any pannier can !?).

+ being a 'classic' classic bike fan I love those 'shrouded shocks'. I cant justify even contemplating buying Hagon's for a brand new bike purely on the grounds of aesthetics......or can I ??

Dear Tritonshed,

Sorry to admit that the Panniers were not my brilliant idea and were indeed on the bike when I purchased it.

The panniers mount onto a black pannier rack that I have assumed is manufactured by Givi as it has very brand specific mounting points for the Givi panniers. The panniers mount directly to the rack using two lower mounting studs onto which the pannier clips and one top mounting clip which fits into the panniers lockable mounting slot. It is very easy and quick to mount and dismount the panniers.

The panniers are Givi E21 Panniers which are relatively small and do not spoil the look of the bike too much.

As I said in my posting - I didn't think that I would leave them on permanently but I have found them to be indispensable over the last couple of weeks so I guess they're here to stay!

Hope this helps a bit.

Paul

Cheers Paul....I did some searching about on the Web yetserday....thanks to yet another day of rain ! & I see that Norman Hyde do a Givi specific Pannier rack for not to bad a price. They do the Panniers too, but they're cheaper from Italy via the "famous Internet Auction site" even after postage.

Funnily enough, there's a "New old stock" set of Cravens just been listed on the same site......but even NOS aren't as stylish as those Givis.

One 'spanner in the works' is that whilst searching through the pictures yesterday on the Picture Thread I saw some which might possibly fit the bill even better !!?? I can't work out how to 'contact member' so I guess I'll try posting a topic to see if they are still with the site. Not sure whether they were leather or ABS, but although they were a bit wider, they were lower too & look as if they may just take a helmet.

Hmm...choices, choices

Found the ref's....LeatherLyke, neck isn't wide enough for a helmet & cost wise, even with the very excellent Exchange Rate, they're too many pennies.

Looks like the Givi's are the way to go, with the Norman Hyde bracket. Hopefully they'll 'price match', be a mockery if they can't ? They're local to me too, so a ride out with a tool kit look's to be in order. In fact, they're between me & my Dealer so I may be able to kill two birds with one stone & return from the 1st service fully 'kitted out'. Then the wife will 'steal' the bike for work as she will be able to carry a change of clothes hmm .....more thinking required
