Hey Sweat Machine, recognize the project?

These take offs are about to get 800 grit massage followed by an acid bath and then painted black with clear coat.

To be different I'm gonna do the trim ring, bar-clamp, risers
and finish the LSL frame sliders.

Now that I think about it, I need to go back in the garage and remove the chrome fender braces and treat them to.

Another member whom I can't give credit for because I can't remember his name, but has inspired me too is the member who had his rims and hubs powdered coated...that was outstanding and is a path I will take soon as well

My Bonnie will be blacker than a Vincent Black Shadow.

The headlight bucket makes a huge difference! I painted mine with appliance enamel black rattle can, looks great!Good luck using all of that prep & etch, there is always the blinkers and taillight too :-D

I believe you are thinking of Bonafide's bike, it has black powder coated rims on it.

A black headlamp shell really goes a long ways to give it that old school look IMO. :upthumb:

Ya had to go and get me thinking about powder coating the headlight - That's a handsome piece of thinking! Another winter project added to my list. I took some great pix yesterday of my bike and I will post them on Thurs-Fri when I return to the office. You wouldn't want me cruising this site when I'm not on the clock would you?

Greg
I would eventually like to do the Lucas lighting reproduction's
but I would want it to be all LED's. Its a subject I need to research.

I found out I'm not much of a painter but its good enough to pass as OK work. I guess when I find the funds for powder coating the rims and hubs I will yank all this stuff and have it done at the same time but for now it works for me.

before

after

fender braces

I am still working on the light bucket. It should be finished tonight. I will post real pictures in the daylight tomorrow.
All though this project is amateurish I am still pleased with the way it looks and look forward to real powder coating someday.
