I am wondering if anyone has any information on adding a power outlet to the Thruxton. I have a GPS that I would like to power (plus now and then the Sirius Satellite receiver).
Is the power outlet that Triumph sells a normal 12V plug or is it a funky sized one that would need an adapter?
Is it easier to go with the Triumph or go find an aftermarket 12V and mount it?
Will Batman ever escape from the clutches of.....
wait, wrong forum for that one.
Thanks!

The Triumph accessory socket is a 12v BMW-style outlet -- just get an adapter cable to go with it (not expensive). The accessory socket is easy to install, and it's nice because it tucks out of the way and has a spring-loaded cover to keep it clean.

Thanks for the info. I cannot find any pictures of it anywhere. I was not sure if I could use an aftermarket one for vehicles or not.

You probably could, but the installation wouldn't be anywhere near as clean. There's already a screw hole in place for the official accessory socket, as well as a plug on the wiring harness that connects to it.

Why not use a Yuasa / Battery Tender style plug? You'll have to make (or buy) an adapter, but they're super cheap ($6), tiny (just a flat two-prong plug), and can tuck neatly under the seat when not in use. Also, it's likely that any heated clothing you might later choose to buy would have this style of plug. If you need to plug in a charger, you'll already have the right plug. Plug in clothing? The right plug. Plug in other things? Adapters are small and can be taken off when not in use. It attaches directly to the battery on its own pigtail with a separate fuse, so you won't be adding any draw to the factory wiring.

I was about to ask the same question about power outlets.
Where does this plug go, and does anyone have a picture of it installed (triumph).
What do these adaptors look like?
I have a battery tender pigtail, but my GPS and cell phone power cables are USB type and I don't want to cut it up, it gets used in the car, too.
